Historical Markers Unveiled At Wiley College

Caleb Brabham reported this weekend for The Marshall (TX) New Messenger that three historical markers were unveiled to recognize Professor H.B. Pemberton, the starting fourth dimension graduate of Wiley College, doc Matthew W. Dogan, Sr., the longest serving president of Wiley College, in addition to Professor Melvin B. Tolson Sr., the faculty fellow member who created in addition to coached the ground team.

Wiley College's history is equally good remembered through the Buard History Trail where 2 of the historic sites characteristic higher pedagogy institutions, Wiley College founded inwards 1873 past times the Methodist Episcopal Church in addition to Bishop College founded past times the Baptist Home Mission Society inwards 1881.  While Bishop College moved to Dallas, TX inwards 1961 in addition to ultimately unopen inwards 1988.
